Amazon Internship Program Overview

Amazon lives up to its name colossal. It is the undisputed king of online retail and has enjoyed meteoric success. In 1997, it reported $15 million in revenue; in 2019 its revenue crossed the $230 billion mark.

As a disruptor, Amazon is at the forefront of technological innovations and is also one of the Big Four tech giants. In its early days, it was a website that merely sold books. Founder and visionary Jeff Bezos wanted it to be the ‘everything’ store.

With instant success, Bezos moved his company out of his garage. In the first month, people from every state in the US and from 45 countries had purchased a book online. It clearly was not a dot.com bubble that was about to burst.

Things move fast at Amazon, and many things have changed in the past two decades. However, the desire to be customer-centric remains solid. Every year, thousands of prospective interns submit applications hoping to ride the Amazon wave.

Amazon is hungry for top talent and at various times throughout the year, they send recruiters to campuses across the country. If they don’t make it to yours, simply visit Twitch.tv channel to learn more about internships.

Hiring timeframes vary by location and role. Amazon has a plethora of internships available, and one is the Operations Leadership Program.

Leaders are on a continuous search for high caliber students who desire a career in operations and long to know what really makes a supply chain function without a hitch. They should know they are masters at sending a computer to Singapore and a tennis racket to Japan.
