It forayed into the marketplace as part of a joint venture project with the TVS group, who set up the primary Whirlpool manufacturing facility in the country. In 1995, Whirlpool acquired Kelvinator India Limited and gained access to the refrigerator market.

The expanded enterprise's portfolio within the Indian subcontinent now included washing machines, refrigerators, microwave ovens, and air conditioners, offering enormous career opportunities in the manufacturing sector.

Whirlpool of India Limited, headquartered in Gurgaon, is now one of the main manufacturers of home appliances in the country. Whirlpool owns three cutting-edge production centers at Faridabad, Pondicherry, and Pune.

Interns' responsibilities will include working with the Global Design Studio, conducting market and home visits for appliances, working with the patron design studio team on research and design questioning and brainstorming sessions, and maintaining documentation of research with insights (domestic visits/marketplace visits).
